When it comes to sexy and exotic supercars, there may not be anything as sexy or exotic as the Alfa Romeo 4D. This mid-engined Italian supercar is surprisingly affordable compared to most major supercars on the market. What’s most interesting about it is the fact that it was the very first vehicle after a 19-year absence of Alfa Romeo from the United States. Did they make the comeback they wanted? Let’s dig into the details.
A History In Italian Performance – The Alfa Romeo 4C
The Alfa Romeo 4C started off as a concept car back in 2011. The concept version was a two-seater coupe with rear-wheel-drive. It was derived from the popular Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and was eventually unveiled at the 81st Geneva Motor Show. It wasn’t until the 2013 Geneva Motor Show that the production car was unveiled.
Technology and Performance of the Alfa Romeo 4C
The 2019 Alfa Romeo 4C is powered by a turbo-four engine with 237 horsepower. Strangely enough, it utilizes a six-speed automatic transmission as the only option. The suspension is very athletic, and it has a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds.
When it comes to technology in the car, it’s pretty bland. The 4C is meant to take drivers back to a time before high-tech interiors. It comes without infotainment systems or driver-assistance features except for a backup camera and rear parking sensors. One thing that we love is that Alfa Romeo offers an optional sport system that gets rid of the muffler to make it louder.
A Look Inside the First Generation of the Alfa Romeo 4C (2013-Present)
Not much has changed with the Alfa Romeo 4C since it first came out in 2013, though the company did introduce a few other versions of the car with upgraded specs. The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider was introduced in 2014 with upgraded headlights, an upgraded exhaust system, and a removable roof panel.
The Alfa Romeo 4C Competizione was released as a limited edition in 2018 with only 108 cars made. The specs were the same, though the car had carbon details on the roof, mirror caps, a rear spoiler, and side air vents.
The Alfa Romeo 4C In the News
In recent Alfa Romeo news, the 4C just released a new Competizione model in Australia with a few changes. It has a $119,000 (AUD) price tag and an Akrapovic dual-mode exhaust system.
Celebrity Endorsements of the Alfa Romeo 4C
The Alfa Romeo brand is definitely one for celebrities. Some of the top celebrity drivers of Alfa Romeo 4C models that we’ve found include Cody Simpson and Larry Emdur.

The Alfa Romeo 4C – Exceptional Performance and Style
The Alfa Romeo 4C exudes luxury and performance. As a high-performance sports car, it provides drivers with a heart-pounding experience like no other. All we can say is that we’re happy they decided to enter back into the U.S. market after disappearing for many years.
