Apollo IE in the Crowd

The words “organic” and “supercar” have not truly come together until now. The Apollo IE marks a point in history of the beginning of the ultra-technological vehicles. It’s a flagship race car from a one-of-a-kind company. With a lightweight build, an aerodynamic handling, and an efficient motor, this may just be the next best vehicle in the sports realm.

The History of the Apollo IE

The Apollo IE is the first vehicle that has gone into production through the Apollo company since the introduction of the Gumpert Apollo back in 2005. The company began teasing the car back in 2017 with a few motion picture-worthy videos before it debuted to the public.

It wasn’t until June of 2018 that Apollo released a statement saying that they would be partnering up with AMG and HWA AG to finish off the final developments for the super. The public will begin seeing deliveries of the car this 2019 summer.

Technology and Innovations of the Apollo IE – A Project of Passion and Design

Apollo IE in Black

The Apollo IE drives with a HWA AG-developed, naturally-aspirated V12 engine. It has specs of 561lb-ft of torque with a whopping 780 hp. This allows the Apollo IE to accelerate from 0-60 in about 2.7 seconds. There are three-way dampers that allow drivers to choose between three modes: sport, auto, and comfort.

The exterior design of the Apollo IE is meant to stand out from all other supercars on the market with one of the most aerodynamic bodies the automotive industry has ever seen. Much of the exterior was based off of marine animals for pure speed and is made out of carbon fiber with titanium additions. Overall, the entire chassis of the car weighs a mere 231 pounds. The interior is leather-wrapped and made out of cocoon-style carbon fiber for added strength and durability.

A Timeline of the Apollo IE

The Apollo IE is currently in production with only 10 units planned to be sold in all. It has been valued at just over 2.5 million in the United States and has been assembled at an Affalterbach plant in Germany, the same manufacturing plant where HWA manufacturers its supercars.

The Apollo IE In the News

The second Apollo IE in creation was spotted this week doing donuts in the Goodwood Parking Lot. It is shown to be an ink-blue color instead of the deep purple that the first iteration showcased.

Celebrity Endorsements For the Apollo IE

So far, we only know the 10 unit slots have been completely filled, meaning it is now sold out. However, there is also apparently a long waiting list. Names have not been released, though we can only assume there are some top-tier celebrity names on the list.

Popular Apollo IE Groups

Apollo tends to keep everything pretty under wraps. It is such a specialty car company that there aren’t any public groups. A lot of that might have to do with the fact that there are so few cars in production. We recommend keeping up with the website for any information on possible groups

The Apollo IE – The New Weapon of Choice For Extreme Racers

Though not many people have had the chance to drive this car, we can see from the specs alone that it is truly a wonder machine. The niche car industry has been a fragile one for quite some time, though a futuristic supercar like this might be just what it needs to get back in the eyes of the general public.
