When it comes to luxurious supercars, the Lamborghini Aventador is a flagship vehicle. It’s powerful, packed with performance features, and carries a sense of style that embodies the company’s unique, Italian brand. Though the car may seem like just a poster child for fast cars, it is one that should not be judged solely by its looks.
A History In High-Performance – The Lamborghini Aventador
The Lamborghini Aventador was first introduced at the Geneva Auto Motor Show back in 2011. It was made to replace the Murcielago as the company’s new flagship model. It was named after a fighting bull and was thought to be faster, stronger, and more aggressive than any Lamborghini that was created up to that point.
A Force In Technology – Lamborghini Aventador
The 2019 Aventador features a naturally-aspirated 6.5L V-12 engine that is mid-mounted and outputs a whopping 730 horsepower with 509lb-ft of torque. This is all transmitted to the wheels with the seven-speed automated-manual transmission.
The car comes complete with a set of Lamborghini-standard scissor doors and a low-slung interior design. The dashboard features a digital gauge cluster with different drive mode layouts, as well as a standard infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.
A Timeline of the Lamborghini Aventador
Though the Aventador is still technically in its first generation, there have been some significant upgrades and model changes over the years. In 2015, Lamborghini released a Super Veloce version that was much lighter than the standard Aventador. The body parts were made out of carbon fiber, and the interior was stripped of insulation and the infotainment system, making it about 50 kg lighter.
In 2017, The Aventador S was unveiled. This version featured more aerodynamic components in the front and rear, one of the most obvious being the rear wheel arches, which look a lot like those on the original Countach. The SVJ came out in 2018 as the quickest street car to ever lap the Nordschleife. It has 770 horsepower with a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds.
