Nissan Rogue

While we might all be familiar with the Altimas and Sentras that we see cruising the highways around the country, neither of them sells as much as the Nissan Rogue. As one of the best-selling compact crossovers out right now, it is comfortable, stylish, and drives like an absolute dream. While it may not be as cohesive as some of its rivals, such as the VW Tiguan and Honda CR-V, there is something about it that crossover lovers can’t seem to deny.

A Short History of the Nissan Rogue

The first Nissan Rogue appeared back in 2007 when it made its debut at the North American International Auto Show that took place in Detroit. It was made to replace the Nissan X-Trail, which was the entry-level Canadian SUV.

Ready To Ride – Technology and Innovations of the Nissan Rogue

The 2019 Nissan Rogue is powered by a 170 horsepower four-cylinder engine and uses continuously variable automatic transmission in its standard version. It has soft suspension that provides a spongy ride on rough terrain. With 26 mpg, it is one of the most fuel-efficient compact SUVs in its class.

On the interior, you have Zero-Gravity bucket seat that provides exceptional comfort, as well as a standard 7.0” infotainment system that comes complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. They can also be equipped with 4G LTE Wi-Fi. One of the safety features is ProPilot Assist, which utilizes both stop-and-go adaptive control and lane-keeping assist.

Two Generations of the Nissan Rogue

  • First Generation Nissan Rogue (2007-2015)

The first-generation Rogue came complete with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that was able to output 170 horsepower. This Rogue was available in two trim levels, though only came with Constant Variable Transmission. The base model came with all-wheel-drive, 16” wheels, and power windows. By 2013, the Rogue had a third row and a brand new cargo system.

  • Second Generation Nissan Rogue (2015-Present)

In its second-generation, the Rogue got a more aggressive styling with a redesigned grille. The new technology includes NissanConnectSM and Intelligent Cruiser Control. A Sport variant came out during this generation as well.

The Nissan Rogue In the News

In recent Nissan News, the Nissan Rogue Hybrid was discontinued for the 2020 model. This leaves the Rav4 Hybrid and the Ford Escape Hybrid as the only two hybrid models in the class.

Celebrity Endorsements of the Nissan Rogue

While there aren’t any celebrities that we have been able to find who own Nissan Rogues, there are quite a few celebrities that own other Nissans. Some of these celebrities include Lance Armstrong, Jay Leno, and Blake Shelton.

Best Nissan Rogue Groups

Just like the majority of Nissan models, the Nissan Rogue has a forum group that is dedicated to the SUV. You can check it out at the Nissan Rogue homepage.

The Nissan Rogue – Big Personality, Compact Size

Though we can’t quite put our finger on it, there is something exciting about driving the Nissan Rogue. Pairing its larger size with its small car-like handling might be it. Regardless, this compact crossover has been going strong for over a decade now, and we don’t see it going anywhere soon.
