Yellow VolksWagen Atlas

The Volkswagen Atlas is manufactured by Volkswagen in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. It is a mid-size sports utility vehicle, or SUV, and it is the largest vehicle produced by Volkswagen. The Atlas was presented as a concept design in September of 2013, and, in November of 2016, the vehicle was introduced at the LA Auto Show in Los Angeles, California. In 2017, the SUV became available for sale in the United States and Canada with a price of about $30,000.

Not Your Typical Mom-Mobile

The Atlas offers an incredibly spacious interior for all three rows of its passengers, a cabin design that is convenient and easy to use, and the perfect combination of handling and comfort. The vehicle is still in its first generation and is expanding its trim options and available features for 2019. The Atlas relies on its status as the largest Volkswagen SUV to be its main selling point. Most parents will choose convenience and space over anything when they have a large family or travel often.

Good news for 2019 is that the standard features in the Volkswagen Atlas will now include “automated emergency braking, forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and heated exterior mirrors.”

Seventeen Cup Holders

The Volkswagen Atlas boasts an insane amount of cup holders – 17 to be exact! Child-friendly features include a second-row bench seat that can comfortably fit 3 child safety seats and easy access to the third row of seats. In addition to the overabundance of cupholders, there are also storage nooks placed throughout the vehicle. The interior of the Atlas is durable and uncomplicated, even further cementing its practicality for families.

Entertainment in the Atlas

Base Atlas models feature a 6.5-inch touchscreen with smartphone capabilities for both Apple and Android phones, a 6-speaker stereo, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB port. You can customize your Atlas and upgrade the touchscreen to 8 inches while adding 3 more USB ports, 2 more speakers, and SiriusXM satellite radio.

Safe for the Whole Family

The standard Volkswagen Atlas offers some important driver-assistance technologies like automated emergency braking and forward-collision warning. There are more safety features that are available upon request like adaptive cruise control. These features have made the Atlas a suitable and safe choice for helping to prevent dangers on the road.

To further the maintenance of its vehicles, and therefore the safety of them, Volkswagen offers both limited and powertrain warranties that cover 6 years or 72,000 miles. The warranties can even be transferred to subsequent owners.
